The Canon IXUS 110 IS is one of my favourite pocket cameras when it comes to picture quality. It has 12 megapixels, a 4x wide angle lens and the ability to shoot High Definition movies. It is not cheap, but it is hard to beat in its category.

Sigma has released an update to its Photo Pro image-editing software. Version 3.5.2 for Windows and v3.3 for Mac claim to improve processing of highlight areas in RAW images and now offer the 'ProPhoto RGB' color space.
