Trusted Reviews tested out the Fujifilm Finepix S8100fd, which seeks to replace the DSLR. The camera is ideal for those who want to break free from point and shooters but don't want to get into the hassles of DSLRs. The Fujifilm Finepix S8100fd is lightweight, fast and produces decent image quality. It offers a multitude of features that would only enhance the photography experience and the long focal length  of the lens ensures that one doesn't need crave a DSLR. However noise was apparent in ISOs higher than 400 and the EVF  is a major disappointment. Verdict: "Image quality is hit-or-miss, with horrible high ISO images and some aggressive sharpening. At lower ISOs images are better, but I find the majority of images too digital looking, lacking the finesse of some other models."

The FinePix S5 Pro is an important step in continuing with the company's goals for achieving professional DSLR image quality consistent with Fujifilm's professional film heritage. The increased dynami

Pricing for the point-and-shoot will be announced closer to the camera\'s July release date.

Fuji FinePix S100fs Reviewed by DCRP

Jan 1, 1970 Filed under: Fuji

Fuji FinePix S100fs, which is a prosumer camera, was recently reviewed by DCRP. The camera scored brownie points for its image quality, its image stabilization engine, its sharp display and the on board VGA movie mode with optical zoom and image stabilization. Excerpt from the review: "The S100fs is better than other ultra zooms in most respects, save for purple fringing, RAW editing, and battery life. Is it $300 - $400 better? I\'m not so sure of that. If you\'re willing to part with nearly $700 on a fixed-lens camera, then the FinePix S100fs is absolutely worth a look."

You can tell the Fujifilm S100FS is no ordinary long zoom digital camera the minute you take it out of the box. It has the build of a digital SLR, slightly bigger in fact than the Canon Rebel XSi. It operates like a digital SLR, too, with a manual zoom ring and buttons instead of menu items to get to oft-used items. But the Fujifilm S100FS is not a digital SLR. The 28-400mm ...

The FinePix Z200fd will be available in four colors (black, silver, red and pink) in September, selling for $299.95.

It's hard to believe that 10-megapixel resolution is available in point-and-shoot cameras. Fujifilm, however, has unveiled the geek-chic FinePix Z200fd, the newest model in the sleek, ultra-compact Z-series.

Colorfully outfitted with a vibrant selection of body styles, the 10-megapixel Fujifilm FinePix Z20fd is pocketable and fun, with a 3x optical zoom lens and a healthy selection of shooting modes. The camera's point-and-shoot design welcomes any experience level and offers a short learning curve. In addition to standard Auto and Program AE exposure modes, the Fujifilm FinePix ...

Photography Blog has reviewed the newly announced Fujifilm FinePix S2000HD and to read the full review go here. The ultra-zoom compact digital camera comes equipped with a 5x optical zoom lens and was found to be a great alternative to a DSLR.Images are acceptable and the camera is not complicated which makes it an ideal prosumer camera. Excerpt from review: "The fact that the 15x zoom can be used in both video and stills modes is a bonus, and the quality of the video, although not quite full HD, is certainly better than that usually found on superzooms andndash; and another reason perhaps for a compact user to upgrade to this model rather than a fully blown DSLR (unless going for a Nikon D90 or Canon 5D Mark II, not really the same target market)."

    FujiFilm Launches SeeHere

Jan 1, 1970 Filed under: Fuji

FujiFilm yesterday unveiled a new website which can be accessed at the following URL : www.seehere.com. The website acts like an integrated web platform for consumers who want to manage their  images, and order prints, photo products and gifts. "The launch of SeeHere.com is consistent with Fujifilm's long-held belief that, as a leader in the imaging industry, we have a responsibility to promote the enjoyment and power of the photographic image, and to stimulate photo printing." said Joan Rutherford, Vice President, Marketing Web for the Imaging Division of FUJIFILM U.S.A. Inc.

The Fujifilm FinePix S2000HD was recently reviewed by the website Trusted Reviews. The Super-Zoom camera impresses with its speedy performance and its great autofocus system. The camera is versatile and offers value for money. However images taken at ISO 800 and above were found to be noisy.

Lets Go Digital reviews the Fujifilm Finepix S100fs and give it 3 out of 5 stars. While the camera was found to be a good alternative to a DSLR, the S100fs is not without its faults. The camera does a decent job when it comes to enlargements and print jobs but suffers from a number of issues that may put off the more serious photographer. Excerpt from review: "the camera has a tad too many issues that I can\'t or won\'t get used to. It is a typical case of a camera that performs excellently when tested extensively in a lab but doesn\'t live up to that expectation in practice. But then again, not everybody might look upon this as a big problem".

Those looking for a DSLR alternative can give the Fujifilm S100fs a shot as it also recently got honored with DIWA Gold Award. The S100fs features a 14.3x zoom lens and has an 11 Megapixel resolution. Kai Thon, test manager of DIWA Labs, concludes: "Too many D-SLR owners never make use of the camera's interchangeable lens advantage. Choosing the Fujifilm FinePix S100FS with the powerful high-performance 14.3x Fujinon zoom lens covers virtually any photographic task; all in one lens. Although the camera's image quality may not quite match a comparable D-SLR in all respects, many versatile features and a comfortable D-SLR-like design make the Fujifilm FinePix S100FS into a very sensible and budget friendly alternative." Unbiased test results by DxO Analyzer of the image quality are available at:http://www.diwa-labs.com.

Fujifilm has stepped in with its line of Instax Mini instant-film cameras, which can be purchased for about $100 or so: a bit much for an impulse buy, perhaps, but cheap enough that a true fan can resuscitate some childhood fun without paying an arm and a leg on eBay.
