I had a chance to shoot with a preproduction model of the Panasonic DMC-TZ5 at PMA in January. The "TZ" stands for travel zoom, and this is a terrific "on the go" camera. The image stabilization works wonderfully, and having the option of choosing among aspect ratios (4:3, 3:2, or 16:9) is a creative plus. This latest version provides HD movie captu

For starters, Panny included a few quirky design choices; for instance, removing the battery requires the LCD cover to be open, but doing so can also turn the camera on unless you place it in a different mode. Granted, the minuscule size didn't leave the outfit too much to work with, but if you're easily flustered by these kinds of ni

Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ10 gets reviewed Posted Apr 7th 2008 3:57PM by Donald Melanson Filed under: Digital Cameras Panasonic's Lumix DMC-LZ10 certainly won't win over many folks on its looks alone, but Photography Blog found that it more makes up for its rather bland exterior where it counts, and they've given the 10-megapixel camera high marks across the board in their new review. As happens most every month around here, we've reviewed some great cameras in March: the Canon SD1100 (largely) cleared the very high bar set by its predecessor, the Pentax K20D offered lots of power at a great price, and it's hard to imagine full-function cameras getting much smaller than the Casio Exilim EX-S10. Making an inaugural Editor's Choice pick in this field was no small feat. The one camera that seemed to do just about everything right, however, was the

In the compact digital camera world, standard zoom lenses have tended to start out in the low- to mid-30mm focal range at the wide-angle end of the spectrum, a 35mm-equivalent length that isn't really all that wide. Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX35 breaks new ground in the compact wide angle sweepstakes: a 4x optical zoom starting out at 25mm.
