Digital Camera Info has posted a review of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3. The LX3 is a very expensive point-and-shoot camera. It has a list price of $500, and while we absolutely love the body and feel of the camera, it has too many downsides for the price. Its test scores were average or below average in most cases, and even its high scores in Color and Manual Noises weren’t far from its much cheaper cousin, the Lumix TZ3. Imaging Resource has posted a review of the Panasonic Lumix FX500. The FX500 is a 10.1 megapixel point & shoot camera with a 5x wide angle lens. It also features Panasonic’s O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilization). A fun camera with a few overkill features, the Panasonic FX500 captures very good color and detail marred only by a tendency to over-optimize flat color, and a tendency for noise even at the lowest ISO setting. Well, unless you are going for a pro-grade compact camera like the soon to launch $500 Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3, probably your main criteria is being small and OK pictures which is what you are going to get. Overall, it is interesting how cameras have not improved much from my trusty SD500 and Fuji F11 and F10. To set the basis, the SD500 is 3.4×2.2×1.0” or 7.5 cu in and 170 grams with 3x F/2.8-4.9 zoom with 1/2.5” sensor at 7MP and works at ISO100 and 2” LCD while the F11 is 6MP and shoots wel

DPReview (Hands On Preview)
“On the inside of course it is indeed radically different to every SLR on the market; the mirror and pentaprism/pentamirror viewfinder is gone, replaced by a live view-only system using either the newly-developed high resolution electronic viewfinder or the large articulated rear screen (which, interestingly, has a 3:2 aspect ratio - not the 4:3 ratio of the sensor).”
