You know you want one. You can already imagine yourself walking into a client meeting and pulling out your new, slick toy. Hear the ‘oohs and aahs’ as you swivel the screen and disengage your tablet’s stylus. Hoisting the plastic pen like a techno-geek’s Excalibur, you ready yourself to unleash your chicken scratches on an eagerly awaiting world. Reality-check time. A tablet PC can easily cost twice as much as a regular laptop. Do you really need the functionality of a tablet? Are you going t

I receive a lot of email from people asking about solar chargers. I haven’t reviewed them previously because they generally only useful if you are going to very remote locations. Portable solar chargers tend to be pricey and they can take a while to get things charged. The best portable charge are flexible, thin-film solar cells. These cells can be folded and packed away easily. Brunton makes a good range of flexible solar cells that use CIGS (Copper Indium Gallium diSelenide) instead of

it’s a quest thing July 8th, 2008 by heather Yay! I finally ordered an 8G memory card for my digital camera, so I won’t be limited to 17 (yes, 17) pictures using the camera’s original 32M card. Hasselblad announces the new HTS 1.5 tilt and shift adapter. Compatible with the HCD28mm, HC35mm, HC50mm and the HC80mm lenses it effectively adds four different tilt and shift lenses to the HC/HCD lens range. "Shift" is the moving of a lens, up and down or to the sides, from its central position while retaining its perpendicular orientation to the film plane. "Tilt" differs from shift in that the normal perpendicular orientation of the lens to the film plane is changed resulting in a change in the plane of focus...

It’s nice to have them in an album, collecting dust. Well, they do something else: they fade. This formerly black-and-white photo of yours truly turned brownish, but that may just be acceptable over 4 decades… but
